首個主日 The First Sunday Service

1973年白澳政策取消，亞裔移民陸續增加，卻未有華人教會，甚至有人以為華人教會即是廟宇。 1976年，神使用一群亞裔基督徒移民，包括三位創堂長老： 鄭從光、梁心喜、郭清顯，經計志文牧師鼓勵下，以詩篇133「看啊!弟兄和睦同居，是何等的美!」建立了一所不隸屬任何宗派的基督教會，命名為「澳亞基督教會」，成為阿德萊德首間華人教會。

10月3日，首次主日崇拜在Kent Town 的衛斯理聯合教會以英語進行，約有120多亞洲和澳洲的肢體參加。初時每兩星期一次主日崇拜，至翌年改為每周舉行。證道有三位牧師，分別是Rev. Geoffrey Bingham，Barry Chant 和Victor Pfitzner。

After the White Australia Policy was abolished in 1973, Asian immigration increased. However, there was no Chinese church in Adelaide at the time, and some people even thought a Chinese church was a temple. In 1976, God used a group of Asian Christian migrants, including the three founding elders Peter Cheng, Sim Hee Neoh, and Cheng Hean Koay, to establish the first Chinese church in Adelaide. Encouraged by Rev. Andrew Gih who gave them Psalm 133:1 – “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”, they founded “Austral-Asian Christian Church”, which is an independent Christian church.

The first Sunday service was held on 3 October at Kent Town’s Wesley Uniting Church. The service was conducted in English and attended by more than 120 Asian and Australian believers. At the beginning, services were held once every two weeks, and from the following year they became weekly services. The preaching was shared by three pastors: Rev. Geoffrey Bingham, Barry Chant and Victor Pfitzner.

服侍移民 Serving Immigrants

越南、東南亞、香港、中國大陸留學生及華僑不斷前來，神將得救的人天天加給教會，崇拜從單英語，擴展為英文堂及中文堂（華語及粵語）。

神又交給教會不斷湧入的越南船民，透過關懷探訪、英語學習班、查經班及福音佈道會，甚至安排交通接送，讓他們能參與崇拜，後來他們也成立了自己的教會。

Migrants and international students from Vietnam, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Mainland China continued to arrive. The Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. As needs grew, the congregation expanded from one English service to separate English and Chinese congregations, with Chinese services conducted in Mandarin and Cantonese.

God also brought many Vietnamese refugees to the Church. Through pastoral visits, English classes, Bible study groups, evangelistic meetings and transport arrangements, they were able to attend church gatherings and later developed their own church.

註冊教會 Church Registration

「澳亞基督教會」正式註冊為法定組織，並訂立運作章程。

神又使教會看到柬埔寨船民的禾場，更預備能操柬語的姊妹，開設柬語查經班及主日崇拜，發展成為後來的柬埔寨堂會。

The “Austral-Asian Christian Church Incorporated” was officially registered as a legal organisation, and a constitution was established for its governance.

At the same time, God opened another mission field among Cambodian refugees. A sister who could speak Khmer began Khmer Bible study classes and Sunday services, which later developed into the “Cambodian Australian Christian Church of South Australia”.

發展宣教 Developing Missions

中文堂第一本手抄油印的宣教刊物<鄉談> 面世。

The Chinese Congregation published its first mission newsletter produced by hand-written stencil printing.

教會增長 Church Growth

神將人數不斷加增給教會，英文堂崇拜仍留在衛斯理聯合教會，中文堂則需租用附近基督教教育機構 Acts International 。

As the number of attendees continued to grow, the English congregation remained at Wesley Uniting Church, while the Chinese Congregation rented space at Acts International, a nearby Christian education organisation.

擴展神國 Expanding God's Kingdom

神又賜福中文堂，使其成功租用浸信會教堂，有更多空間以繼續拓展神國。

粵語青年團契成立。

God continued to bless the Chinese Congregation, enabling the Church to rent Norwood Baptist Church, providing more space to continue expanding God’s kingdom.

Cantonese Youth Fellowship was formed.

計劃購堂 Planning for a Church Building

信而歸主的人越發增添，四堂主日崇拜已有600會眾，分別在三處租借場所，教會遂計劃購堂以配合發展。

以諾團契及安德烈團契成立。

As more people came to faith, attendance continued to grow. The four Sunday Congregations together reached about 600 attendees, meeting across three rented venues. The need for a permanent church building became clear and plans to purchase a property began.

New fellowships were formed, including Enoch Fellowship and Andrew Fellowship.

福音書室 Gateway Community Centre

開設外展中心「恩門福音書室」傳福音，為社區鄰里提供不同類型刊物，包括香港報紙雜誌，上網服務，及新移民查詢支援等等。

設立兒童主日學。

“Gateway Community Centre” was established as an outreach centre for evangelism, providing resources for the local community, including Hong Kong newspapers and magazines, internet access, and enquiry support for new migrants.

Children's Sunday School was established.

籌集基金 Raising Funds

建堂基金成立，肢體同感一靈，積極認獻購堂磚，並自發舉辦多次籌款活動，同時致力尋找適當物業。

迦南團契成立。

A Church Building Fund was established. Members responded with unity and generosity by pledging donations for “building bricks” and organising various fundraising activities while actively searching for a suitable property.

Canaan Fellowship was established.

神蹟購堂 A Miraculous Purchase

9月16日註冊另外一法定名稱為 “Chinese Christian Church of Adelaide, Australia”。

在神奇妙的引領下，教會在10月以僅籌得的50萬，購入原價120萬的294-296 Morphett Street物業，即現時中文堂的堂址。這物業原是一所殘舊的製衣工場，神恩豐富，為兩年的裝修適時預備了足夠的資金。

神讓教會見到青少年及海外僑生的需要，租用 133 Waymouth Street 設立「城市外展堂」。

On 16 September, the Church registered another official name “Chinese Christian Church of Adelaide, Australia”.

Through God’s wonderful guidance, the Church purchased the 294-296 Morphett Street property in October for $500,000, although the original asking price was $1.2 million. This site is now the location of the Chinese Congregation. The building was originally an old garment factory, but God graciously provided sufficient funds for the two years of renovation work required.

God also led the Church to recognise the needs of young people and overseas students, leading to the establishment of the “City Outreach Congregation” at 133 Waymouth Street.

多元發展 Diverse Development

雅各團契及中文堂詩班成立。

New ministries continued to develop within the Church. James Fellowship was established, and the Chinese Choir was formed.

新堂落成 Completion of the New Church Building

新堂改裝完成，中文堂由租用的浸信會首先遷回。期後柬埔寨堂、英文堂、城市外展堂亦陸續遷入，在不同時段使用新堂址。

神又差派許多工人服侍教會，使各堂會都有各自的牧者及長老負責。

After renovation was completed, the Chinese Congregation moved into the new building, leaving the rented Baptist church. Soon after, the Cambodian Congregation, English Congregation, and the City Outreach Congregation also moved in and began using the new premises at different times.

During this period, God also sent many workers to serve in the Church, and each Congregation began to have its own pastors and elders.

新堂開幕 Dedication of the Church Building

3月30日，由Dr. Geoffrey Bingham 主持感恩開幕典禮，Morphett Street 堂會正式啟用，當年的南澳省長 Dean Brown 也有出席。

神國發展興旺，得救人數不斷，經過禱告和討論，各堂會決定在財政上獨立，使事工及財務能按各自的異象及方向更有效地安排。

有牧者和肢體領受宣教異象，從南澳遠道到外蒙古短宣，環境雖艱苦，卻堅持將醫療設備和醫藥贈送到貧困的草原居民，並帶領當地人信主，為宣教事工揭開序幕。

多年來教會積極遵行大使命，拓展神國，不同肢體曾先後到不同地方宣教，包括柬埔寨、老撾、緬甸、菲律賓、阿布扎比、杜拜、斐濟、泰北、中國福建等等，本地宣教包括有Naracoorte、Port Wakefield及 Cairns。

迦勒團契成立。

On 30 March, the Morphett Street church building was officially opened with a thanksgiving dedication ceremony officiated by Dr. Geoffrey Bingham. The Premier of South Australia, Dean Brown, was also present at the event.

As the Church continued to grow and more people came to faith, the Congregations prayerfully discussed how to organise their ministries. Eventually, each Congregation decided to become financially independent, allowing their ministries and finances to be managed according to their own visions and directions.

Some pastors and members received a strong mission calling and travelled from South Australia to Outer Mongolia for a short-term mission trip. Despite harsh conditions, they delivered medical equipment and medicine to poor nomadic communities and shared the gospel, leading some locals to faith. This marked the beginning of the Church’s overseas mission work.

Over the years, members have participated in missions in many places including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fiji, Northern Thailand and Fujian (China). Local mission fields included Naracoorte, Port Wakefield and Cairns.

Caleb Fellowship was established.

華語青年團契及粵語職業青年團契成立。

New fellowships were formed, including the Mandarin Youth Fellowship and the Working Youth Fellowship.

再次購堂 Another Church Property

神豐盛的恩典，讓城市外展堂成功購入於Maylands一所原屬於聯合教會的教堂。

By God’s abundant grace, the City Outreach Congregation successfully purchased a church building in Maylands, which previously belonged to the Uniting Church.

Various evangelistic events were held, including the “Unreserved Love” Music Evangelical event by Rev. Enoch Lam.

同源各牧 One Origin, Four Congregations

各堂會正式獨立命名註冊，各自訂立會章，自行管治。

▪中文堂改名為“Austral-Asian Chinese Church”中文仍保持為澳亞基督教會。

▪英文堂改名為“Austral-Asian Community Church”。

▪城市外展堂命名為“New Life Christian Community Incorporated”中文名為「新生命堂」。

▪柬埔寨堂命名為“Cambodian Australian Christian Church of South Australia”。

為了維持合一及在需要時提供屬靈上的幫助，四個堂會的主任牧師及執事會主席組成議會，註冊為一個獨立的組織“AACC Union Inc.”，定期召開會議，商討有關事宜。四堂會又各派兩名代表組成“AACC Property Inc.”，註冊負責管理教會物業。

Each congregation officially registered independently with its own constitution and governance.

▪The Chinese Congregation was named “Austral-Asian Chinese Church”, while retaining the Chinese name.

▪The English Congregation became “Austral-Asian Community Church”.

▪The City Outreach Congregation became “New Life Christian Community”.

▪The Cambodian Congregation became “Cambodian Australian Christian Church of South Australia”.

To maintain unity and provide spiritual guidance when needed, AACC Union Inc. was established. It consisted of the senior pastors and board chairpersons of the four congregations and met regularly to discuss matters of common concern. At the same time, representatives from the four Congregations formed AACC Property Inc., which took over the management of church properties.

長老離任 Founding Elder's Departure

創堂長老鄭從光，以傳道書第3章開首「萬事均有定時」宣佈他在教會事奉的日子告一段落，決定另尋事奉方向，後來他成立了另一間教會。

陳恩明牧師培靈會、屈偉豪博士培靈會、周永健牧師培靈會。

Founding elder Peter Cheng announced that his season of ministry at the Church had come to an end, quoting Ecclesiastes 3:1 — “There is a time for everything.” He later established another church.

Throughout these years, the church hosted many evangelistic and revival gatherings, including events with Rev. Young Man Chan, Dr. Benjamin Wat and Rev. Dr. Alvin Chow.

Various evangelistic meetings were also held with Dr. Thomas Leung, Dr. Daniel Wu and Dr. Milton Wan.

發揮恩賜 Discovering Spiritual Gifts

代表自然教會發展的趙錦德牧師先後兩次到訪，協助教會找出並加強所擁有的恩賜特質，同時培養所缺乏的質素，引導教會定出核心價值觀，更有效地發揮神所賜的恩賜及資源，並放眼世界，為更廣闊的群體作見證。

為更好地牧養，迦南團契嘗試用地區劃分為小組形式，在不同的組長家中聚會。

開展“Click”兒童暑期聖經班直至2011年。

Rev. David Chiu, who represented for Natural Church Development, visited twice to help the Church identify and strengthen its spiritual gifts. Through this process, the Church clarified its core values and learned to better utilise the gifts and resources God had given.

To enhance pastoral care, the Canaan Fellowship began organising members into geographically based small groups, meeting in the homes of group leaders.

A children’s summer Bible program called “Click” was launched and continued until 2011.

再三購堂 Another Church Purchase

6月29日，神的恩典再次彰顯，讓當年的英文堂 – Austral-Asian Community Church 成功購入位於 Tusmore 也原屬於聯合教會的教堂，啟用後直至今天。中文堂雖然因此要獨力承擔額外開支，但神早有計劃，更多的使用空間正好配合中文堂後來的蓬勃發展。

On 29 June, God once again provided for the Church. The former English Congregation – Austral-Asian Community Church successfully purchased a church building in Tusmore, which was also a former Uniting Church property, and began using it till today. Although the Church had to shoulder additional financial responsibilities, God’s provision allowed more space for the Church’s future growth.

四次購堂 Fourth Property Purchase

神繼續大大地賜福，使教會購入現時英文堂堂址Morphett Street 300號，並設立了現在的英文堂，當時聚會人數大約有38人。

God continued to bless the Church with another property purchase at 300 Morphett Street, which is now the location of the current English Congregation. The English Service was established and began meeting with about 38 people.

成為牧區 Pastoral Zone Establishment

迦南團契和職業青年團契分別發展成為迦南牧區和職青牧區，設有牧區導師及組長。

The Canaan Fellowship and Working Youth Fellowship were respectively developed into the Canaan Pastoral Zone and Working Youth Zone, each with appointed mentors and cell group leaders.

關愛肢體 建立教會Caring for One Another, Building the Church

四十週年 40th Anniversary

教會40週年，有多個慶祝活動，包括40週年之教會慶典暨服侍南澳華人紀念聯歡聚餐、「美之夜」音樂會、「上帝子民 歡欣同行」教會大旅行、聖道論劍講座「啟示錄，怎麼讀？」、溫偉耀博士「天人道」系列講座、同心圓「我們在天上的父」音樂會等等。

四堂聯合議會及主堂物業持有權：藉著神奇妙的感動及引領，Austral-Asian Community Church及新生命堂先後決定不再持有AACC Union Inc. 及 AACC Property Inc.的會員資格及部份主堂持有權，以支持教會的發展。柬埔寨堂由於未參與聯會事務及會議，其會員資格及部份主堂持有權亦自動停止，教會議會也因而解散。後教會得悉新生命堂也正籌備興建新堂，亦積極為其籌款， 見證了萬事互相效力。

英文堂新堂裝修完畢正式啟用，並設立Awana 兒童事工。

The Church celebrated its 40th Anniversary. Many celebration events were held, including Anniversary banquet celebrating service to the Chinese community in South Australia, “Night of Beauty” concert, Church family outing, theology seminar “How Should We Read Revelation?”, Lecture series “The Way of Heaven and Humanity” by Dr. Milton Wan, Worship concert “Our Father in Heaven” by One Circle.

Through God’s guidance, the Austral-Asian Community Church and New Life Christian Community later chose to relinquish their membership in AACC Union Inc. and AACC Property Inc. to support the Church’s development. The Cambodian Australian Christian Church of South Australia also ceased participation, and the Union Council was eventually dissolved. During this time, the Church also supported New Life Christian Community as it prepared to build a new church building.

The English Congregation's renovated church building was also officially opened and Awana children's ministry was established.

本地宣教工場Naracoorte重開，以關顧一群新到的屠宰工人。其後，訪宣隊定期到Naracoorte事奉，包括教導英語，直至2022年。

Local mission work in Naracoorte was restarted, serving newly arrived abattoir workers. Mission teams regularly visited to provide English classes and pastoral care until 2022.

The missions team also visited a Children’s Village in Sanming, Fujian, serving under Evangelist James Leung, and began sponsoring ten children there.

The South Australian Chinese Pastors Prayer Fellowship later hosted the 2019 CCCOWE Oceania Regional Conference.

Eden Fellowship was established.

The Church partnered with China Graduate School of Theology to offer the “The Word of Life” Bible study courses and held joint worship and prayer gatherings with One Circle.

業權獨立 Separation of Church and Property Entities

將物業持有權和教會運作分拆，教會日常會務運作的法定實體名稱改為“Austral-Asian Christian Church Incorporated”。 兩個物業則分別由另外兩個法定實體全資持有，並且於1月1日生效：Austral-Asian Chinese Church Incorporated 持有新堂址， Austral-Asian Christian Church Property Incorporated 持有舊堂址。

為承辦「2019世界華福會澳紐區域會議」，教會聯同南澳多間華人基督教會創立了「南澳華人基督教聯合會」，並按本地的社團法登記。

開辦澳亞讀經攻略。

The Church separated property ownership from church operations. The legal entity responsible for church operations became Austral-Asian Christian Church Incorporated, while two separate legal entities were created to hold the properties.

To host the 2019 CCCOWE Australia-New Zealand Regional Conference, the Church partnered with several Chinese churches in South Australia to establish the “Chinese Christian Ministry Fellowship of South Australia”, which was formally registered under local association law.

新冠肺炎疫情影響，很多社服事工暫停，教會未能舉辦任何活動，卻未能使聚會停止，教會改為網上進行崇拜及團契小組聚會。

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many ministries paused, and physical gatherings stopped. However, church life continued through online worship services and fellowship meetings.

開展唐人街揮春外展佈道，包括有詩歌福音粵曲獻唱及余牧師即席寫揮春。

疫情好轉，教會舉辦開放日，重啟多元化事工，包括醫院關顧、乒乓球事工、中文認字playgroup、繁體字中文班、籃球事工、英文班、讚美操，新移民支援計劃等等。

神使教會興旺，9月雙語崇拜再次分成華語和粵語的單語崇拜，亦給予了兩個語系成長的空間。開始分堂時粵語堂約有250人，華語堂約有55人。

As the situation improved, the Church held an Open Day and resumed many ministries including Hospital ministry, Table tennis ministry, Chinese literacy playgroup, Traditional Chinese classes, Basketball ministry, English classes, Exercise and praise programs and new migrant support programs.

In September, bilingual services were again separated into Mandarin and Cantonese Congregations, allowing both to grow. At the beginning, the Cantonese Congregation had about 250 people and the Mandarin Congregation about 55.

The Church set its mission and vision:

▪Mission Statement: Be a Christ-centred community to make disciples for generations of all backgrounds that glorify God.

▪Vision Statement: To become a missional church by making radical disciples to advance God’s kingdom from local to global.

The Mission Ministry was reorganised into two teams:

▪Evangelism Team – focusing on local outreach

▪Mission Team – focusing on cross-cultural and overseas missions.
